The Other Canada

E and I were going to travel. I think it was through work. They wanted us to go to Canada.

No not this Canada. Not the one we're already in. No, this was a different one, this was one that we saw on a great big wall map of North America. On the map we could see the US on the south, then Canada above that, and then off to the northwest of Ontario was another Canada. It was like a carbon copy of southern Ontario but it was different from the one that's there already.

So we took our trip and there we went, and the people were the same but different somehow. They seemed more old fashioned, different in their ways. I remember being at a big modern mall, sorta like the Eaton Center, but in the mall the men were in 1950's suits with hats and pipes and the like. And the mall was different too. Very much open courtyards and old houses and stuff, almost like the Market here.

On the whole I find it a strange dream. I almost wonder if it was how we were picking out where we were going to go before we ever got here. We were in the great beyond looking at a map and we decided "yup, there, let's go to that Canada place..." Makes as much sense as anything else really....
